OUTWARD BOUND
ADVENTURER
AUG 2015 - MAY 2019
I have a profound love for the outdoors and cherish every moment spent embracing adventure and stepping out of my comfort zone. This passion has led me to participate in five enriching Outward Bound expeditions.

Starting with the unique ecological system of the Everglades, this incredible journey opened my eyes to nature's wonders and taught me about resiliency in the face of obstacles. Being a part of the Agents of Change program, I've taken on challenges and gained valuable experiences with my fellow PTS students. The Everglades expedition taught me that, if ever lost in the mountains, jungle, or ocean, I possess the skills and determination to find my way back safely.

Subsequently, my adventures led me to the majestic Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. The vastness and beauty of these mountains taught me the essence of endurance and the joy of discovery.

One of my most transformative experiences was in Costa Rica. The lush jungles and towering mountains became my playground. Here, I repelled down cascading waterfalls, hiked through Costa Rica's National Park, and had the invaluable opportunity to participate in a cultural exchange with fellow students at a local Costa Rican boarding school.

Additionally, I delved into the history and philosophy behind Outward Bound, discovering its origins with Kurt Hahn, a German educator. His belief in experiential learning resonated with me, teaching me that true understanding of life comes from living it in its most challenging and exhilarating forms. Both Outward Bound and Round Square, concepts introduced by Hahn, underscored this idea.

After five transformative Outward Bound adventures, I've not only grown in skills but also in character, imbibing the ethos that true growth comes from pushing boundaries and embracing challenges head-on.
